Jaime Leigh Bradbury
The newest star in the heavens began to shine on November 29, 1982; we named her Jaime Leigh. Jaime favors Mom in most ways, except that she has grown quite a bit taller than Kathy. She has a sparkling personality that is outshined only by her crystal blue eyes. Adventurous and high-spirited, Jaime personifies the lyrics of the popular 80's single "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"! As a little girl, Jaime liked to play with cars and trucks and balls, and she had an insatiable need to literally climb the walls. Having to have her feet in casts for several months to correct a mild deformity seemed to give Jaime strength, energy and agility beyond belief.
Jaime liked to hang out with Dad when I was working on the car or house, or doing just about any kind of "guy things". She developed a taste for sports--both as a spectator and participant, and she was the first to begin accompanying me on hikes and climbs in the desert. She was what most would refer to as a tomboy, but any label would grossly oversimplify this impetuous and highly curious young lady. Jaime liked to go out on weekend jaunts with me and my climbing partners, most of whom were young, single and at least a little bit wild and rowdy. While this may not seem to be the most positive atmosphere for an eight-year-old girl, Jaime acquired an understanding of her natural surroundings and learned to recognize, explore, test and expand her limits. She developed a security and self-confidence that will always benefit her--and may, from time to time, even get her into trouble! Her quick mind and strong instincts, however, will be her allies.
Like her sister, Jaime demonstrated an advanced intelligence and academic precocity and did very well in school, following a similar challenging path that her sister had chosen before her. Most things came very naturally to Jaime, but she most enjoyed mathematics and science. She dabbled in poetry, art and music, and played in the band and participated in track, basketball and volleyball. Jaime's climbing and hiking background helped her to excel in sports, and she continued to participate in them until they began to interfere with her other goals. Being exposed to and learning to care for animals throughout her life led Jaime to decide to pursue a career as a veterinarian. This goal, she soon realized, would require her complete devotion. In a hurry--as always--to chase her dreams, Jaime graduated high school early and began taking classes at MCC. She has made a name for herself at the community college, and she continues to excel in math and all sciences.
Jaime currently holds a manager position at the local cinema ten-plex where she has worked for about two years while she has been attending college. She has a vivid persona and commands attention when she walks into a room--including the attention of all too many males of the species! (As a Dad, this is certainly one of the hardest things about raising daughters!) Not one to play around, (just like her sister--I think this must come from knowing what you want), Jaime has been seeing her boyfriend Zach for over two years, and they seem to be quite happy together.
Jaime has always played well for the camera; the following pictures help to illustrate her personality. Again, no particular order or direction, just cute shots! I will continue to add pictures as I can.
